Services You're here History Find Us Contact Us Who are we

We are a family of Christians who meet in the ground floor of an office block in Halbeath that we have converted into a space for worship and welcome.

We are part of the United Reformed Church (URC) with around 42,000 members in about 1,200 congregations across the United Kingdom. We are also part of the worldwide family of Reformed Churches, a group of more than 70 million Christians.

We believe that God loves you and as Christians we do to. To be a Christian means that we love our neighbour as we love ourselves - the way of life shown to us by Jesus Christ.

You will be made welcom here
Regardless of your background, your family, your past, your present or future you are welcome here. Regardless of who you are, your ethnicity, your sexual orientation, your perceived worth you are welcome here.

We welcome all faiths and all those with no faith. You don't have to be a Christian to come here. If you just want to know what being a Christian and a member of this Church would mean for you, you are welcome to join our worship service here on Sunday at 11am. We have no permanent minister so each Sunday service is different as we are lead by one of our expanding group of volunteer preachers.

Our Worship
We celebrate the bread and wine of communion usually on the first Sunday of the month and you are welcome to join us on these Sundays whether or not you wish to take part in this part of the service. The information for our services an be found on the Services page of this website. Service times are also available through our Facebook page.

If you are nervous about visiting us in person or just want to see and hear what we do, you are welcome to join us on-line through Zoom. The meeting ID is 938 6430 0866 with passcode "quick".

Our Roots
Before joining with the URC in 2000 we were known as Dunfermline Congregational Church and were based in the church building in Canmore Street in Dunfermline. So the roots of this Church are firmly based in Dunfermline and have been since 1841. Further history of this church is available on the History page on this website.

We firmly believe that the Church is not the building and with increasing costs and a reducing congregation we made the decision to sell the Canmore Street building and trust in God's guidance. We met in a gym in Dunfermline High School for two years before our present home in became available.

Our Values and Aspirations
Having congregational roots means that we value our independence. The lack of hierarchy, a respect for individual principles, and the acceptance of a wide variety of opinions practised by the URC means that we are pleased to be part of this national Church.

Local URC Churches are each supported in many aspects of being Church by area organisation of the URC known as Synods. In our case the Synod of Scotland and we subscribe to the aspirations of the Synod of Scotland shown here.
